Just a Tuesday Night...

I found this yummy scone recipe and couldn't wait to try it out...
Sour Cream Chocolate Chip Scones.

I had to take a little taste.... okay, maybe a bit more than a taste.

Toomers Corner

Jared and I spent the day in Auburn, Alabama. We had such a great day! The weather was in the upper 70's with spring in the air. We visited Toomers Corner -- it was a sad day for Auburn. (a little history about the "corner" -- the two trees on the corner have been there for years and years and after every Auburn football win the Auburn students toilet paper them in celebration. This year after the Auburn/Alabama game (when Alabama lost) an Alabama fan poisoned these beautiful trees and called a local radio station to brag... long story short these beautiful trees are dying). So people have come to pay their respects with flowers, cards, and rolls of toilet paper.

We walked around the campus a little which was beautiful. Visited the famous Toomer's Drugs and got a lemonade.... Enjoyed paninis together at a local cafe' -- went into some great boutiques and snapped pictures of downtown architecture.

Oh Boy!

Just got back from the OB. All is great with Tank... had another ultrasound today and our little guy has plumped up so much since our first visit. He was puckering his lips and sucking... so cute. He is 2lbs 14oz. Almost 3 lbs -- big boy... above average. And the US tech said he has very long legs and big feet!

Sorry the quality is so bad... a picture of a picture is difficult.

Looking at the camera.

An Orange Creamsicle....

Well not quite... that first taste about sent my tastebuds catching the first train outta town. So having it "on the rocks" was probably the best choice for the whole experience... the second 3rd wasnt so bad. But then I had to chug it because there was a time limit and I about tossed my cookies during that last part. Wish me luck... off to the OB to have my blood drawn.

Prattville, Alabama aka The Fountain City

Well yesterday I ventured out of my comfort zone and checked out the historic district of Prattville. And I sure am glad that I did... such a cute place -- I mean it is just what the doctor ordered for homesickness. There are aspects that reminded me of Fort Collins. Went into a couple of children's boutiques and walked around a bit. On my way home I stopped by a local park and was greeted by large white geese that started after me... so you could say there was a lot of quick waddling (and I dont mean by just the geese). I snapped a few pictures and enjoyed the warm sunshine.

My Cupid

Woke up this morning feeling a bit nauseous so I proceeded to eat a bit of cereal in hopes that it would settle my stomach... and what do I find? Jared has placed sweet little Valentine notes in various places around the house for me to discover throughout the day! He is so wonderful, I am a lucky girl. So I have created a collage of them to share. Happy Valentine's Day.

Hand Dipped Valentine

The day has finally come that I can bake the treats I have been dying to make all week. I saw these cute cookies online and had to make them for Jared to take to his first class of students Monday.

Next came the chocolate chip cookies...

and I wasn't alone.... he wanted to lick the spoon.

House Chores

Well the house is coming together slowly... We are still working on furnishing the nursery, office, and getting our bedroom the way I would like it; as well as things here and there. I am pretty happy with what I have done so far. Feels like home. The houses in the neighborhood are going up like Lincoln Logs. Jared and I are looking forward to meeting the new neighbors to our right -- it is supposed to be a young family.

Sunday Afternoon Walk

Today Jared and I went for a walk behind our neighborhood... after 3 days of dreary rain and cold the sun finally decided to peak out. I gotta take advantage of the nice weather when I can here (so I am finding out). Took along my old Nikon camera only to be a bit disappointed with the lack of subjects (dead grass, naked trees, and red Alabama clay). But it was still great to get out and stretch my legs. Jared took a couple pics of me and since I have had some requests for "belly shots" I decided to post a few of them.

Sewing Corner

Well I finally have taken some pictures of the sewing crafts I have been working on. Bibs, burp cloths, and blankets.

Our Little Tank

Many of you know that we are having a little boy. He is due May 12, 2011. It's so exciting for us... I have been busy sewing and gathering all kinds of little clothes for our little guy. We are still working out a name. Jared and I go back and forth trying to come up with one. For now we call him our little Tank.

This is from our first ultrasound... it is a profile picture with his little hand up by his mouth. I am about 21 weeks along here.
