Meanwhile back at the ranch.

It sure has been a long week here without Jared. He comes home today from Mississippi (where he had corrective eye surgery done), and Henry and I couldnt be more excited! Meanwhile, Henry and I ran errands, took baby naps, sewed like crazy, went on a lunch date, baked chocolate chip cookies, drove up to Winfield to spend the afternoon with Aunt Barbara & Uncle Derrell, and played in the nursery. It has been a fun week just he and I, but definitely time for daddy to come back.

p.s. Henry has started to drool like crazy, so that is what the bib is all about.

Spaceship Jammy-Jams

Henry has continued to sleep through the night which is such a huge deal.... because that means Momma is able to get adequate uninterrupted shut-eye. The bedtime routine goes as follows:

1. Bath time starts around 7:30pm. Which Henry LOVES because that means he gets to splash Momma and suck on washcloths.

2. Lotion up... which is fun for him until it is time to put on those soft warm spaceship jammy-jams. I believe the kid likes to be naked rather than clothed. So protests and big tears begin to fall once the PJ's go on.

3. Dinner time for Henry, which is followed by story time... This is my favorite time of the night. I think Henry has come to enjoy this quiet time with me because he has started to look at the pictures instead of being so squirmy.

4. And finally, eyes begin to get verrry heavy around 8pm which is accompanied by a sweet slumber.

Henry is an early riser at 7am and here are some shots of our mornings together.... Henry playing on his gym making the best squeals and giggles.

3 1/2 Months

We had a very great week back from vacation. Henry started sleeping through the night (with a couple inconsistent days here and there). But this is a HUGE victory, I cant tell you how "rested" this makes me feel!!!! Jared's birthday was last Sunday so Henry and I spent a wonderful day with him which consisted of breakfast, church (which Henry slept through the entire service -- also a great victory!), out to lunch, baked a big chocolate birthday cake, and a nice quiet evening at home. Yesterday the 3 of us went to the air force base pool for a couple of hours. It was hot hot hot, a bit too hot for Henry when he wasnt in the water. Overall the week has been pretty fantastic.

Vacation Time.

Back to reality. Well it has almost been a week since we were in Michigan on Birch Lake with our friends. We had such a great time! Our drive up there was 13 hours with dogs and baby. Car was packed, we left the house at 2:30AM and drove to Birch Lake making a few frequent stops to feed and change Henry. He slept most of the way and was very content until reaching Indianapolis where he had pretty much gotten tired of sitting in his car seat (cant blame him). Our vacation was filled with swimming, boat rides around the lake each evening, water skiing, tubing, knee boarding (which I was terrible at), fishing, and relaxing by the lake. Jared was able to get a lot of reading in, Henry took great naps, and I was able to enjoy the beautiful outdoors.
