Building his nest....

Wow I hadn't realized it had been so long since my last post. Feels like a lot has been going on around here... the nursery nesting has begun! Our furniture arrived Monday which I couldn't be more thrilled about. All of you that are curious to catch a glimpse of it will have to enjoy the few pictures I am posting. I want everything to be fixed before the "unveiling"... ha!

Sunday Afternoon

Well today was such a productive day! Went to church this morning followed by lunch at home then off to Lowe's to get birthday potting flowers. Jared picked up his garage shelves along with other random things. Our afternoon consisted of planting flowers (Thanks Cathy and Doug -- part of my birthday gift) and Jared tackling the garage extravaganza! To finish our lovely day together we enjoyed pasta salad under our new green picnic table umbrella! Delightful!

The Alphabet Game

Well I have taken on yet another project... this time it's for our little guy's nursery. I found a super cute picture in a magazine of a nursery that used alphabet art hanging on a wall. So I created some alphabet art myself last night. All I need to do now is figure the placement in the room and hang with clothes pins and ribbon. I will post the final pictures once the furniture has arrived and all the "stuff" is up on the walls. I am getting pretty excited!

A Birthday Celebration

Well my favorite little guy turned 9 today! Cant believe we have been a duo for that long now... so tonight called for a celebration! He got a new little stuffed hedgehog which he loves! And since we dont live near a dog bakery I had to wear the chef's hat and bake Carob Chip Brownies with Carob Cream Cheese Frosting! (sounds good, but ick... not that tasty for the human). Rocky was a bit confused when I put the fancy treat down for him, not sure if it was "okay" for him to eat. It took quite a bit of coaxing to convince him he wasnt going to be in trouble if he dove in. Linus also took a bit of coaxing, not nearly as much however... all in all I think it was a pretty Happy Birthday!

Toomers Corner

Jared and I spent the day in Auburn, Alabama. We had such a great day! The weather was in the upper 70's with spring in the air. We visited Toomers Corner -- it was a sad day for Auburn. (a little history about the "corner" -- the two trees on the corner have been there for years and years and after every Auburn football win the Auburn students toilet paper them in celebration. This year after the Auburn/Alabama game (when Alabama lost) an Alabama fan poisoned these beautiful trees and called a local radio station to brag... long story short these beautiful trees are dying). So people have come to pay their respects with flowers, cards, and rolls of toilet paper.

We walked around the campus a little which was beautiful. Visited the famous Toomer's Drugs and got a lemonade.... Enjoyed paninis together at a local cafe' -- went into some great boutiques and snapped pictures of downtown architecture.
