A busy February....

Well after a very busy February we are back to our regular routine... however that isnt for too long because Nana and Papa are coming to visit and then let the vacations roll. We have a jam packed summer all planned and I couldnt be more excited. Beach. Atlanta. DisneyWorld. More beach.

So last week it was so rainy and cold so we had to play indoors. And for one of those days I was scrambling to find an activity for Henry to do. Let him create his own pizza! I know it was a shot in the dark and I dont think he quite understood the concept but he did great. He had to "taste" the cheese a lot to make sure it was alright. And I really tried to help him understand that it needed to cook in the oven first and then we can enjoy it.... and to get that across I had to give him some munchies to nibble until the pizza was done cooking. We have been meeting friends at the playground on as many nice days as possible. Oh, and he has discovered the word, "no" which was cute at first and now I just dont quite find it as cute. "Henry, would you like to read Corduroy?" "No" "Henry would you like some milk?" "No" And now he just says "no" even when he does want something....
A really sweet thing he does now is, sing songs (in his little babble language)-- but it melts my heart everytime. He loves to pray and hold hands. His favorite book these last few weeks is Ferdinand the Bull. And last week one of the ladies in the preschool bible school told me in passing on my way out the door that "Henry is the leader in my class..." I dont know what that meant, but let me tell ya, I was beaming and so excited to rush home and tell Jared. And like a proud daddy he was just as excited to get that news. One of his big accomplishments that we are working on is potty training. He is doing so well. I have put a diaper on him to go out (to church, the playground, etc...) and he is dry when we get home and has waited to use the potty chair! I am thrilled! But I am not pushing him because a couple months ago we tried that potty training boot camp ("Your child will be potty trained in a week") and that just had both of us ending our days in tears... so I think that whole thing is garbage (at least for us it was). I have just encouraged the usage of the potty chair and giving him rewards as he does it and that is working for us. =)

I have started my garden seedlings for tomatoes about 10 days ago and the little sprouts have started popping up all over! The bluebirds are busy working on their nest. And my birdfeeder is full of little birds just pigging out on the seed. So I know that Spring is just around the corner! And I cant wait to get started planting and playing outdoors! Its gonna be great!
